Join the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC) and HCAF as leaders and supporters of home care gather in the nation’s capital to make our voices heard. No experience is needed, and advocates will be assigned to a group with an experienced leader. Bringing employees and staff members is highly encouraged!
Monday events and Tuesday breakfast will be held at the Frederick Douglas Museum just blocks from the U.S. Capital, 320 A Street, NE, Washington, D.C.
Monday, March 20
The 2017 March on Washington kicks off with a Washington Update panel discussion featuring NAHC leadership and political experts on the critical issues affecting home care and hospice.
- 4:00-5:00 p.m. – March on Washington Reception (meet and greet)
- 5:00-7:00 p.m. – Washington Update Panel
TUESDAY, MARCH 21
On Tuesday, March 21, we will gather in the morning to march on Capitol Hill for private meetings with senators and representatives to ask their support. There will be NAHC Staff at the Frederick Douglass Museum all day to debrief with after your day on the hill. There will also be space there to leave your luggage while you are meeting with your elected officials.
- 8:00-9:30 a.m. – Kick-Off Breakfast
- 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. – Scheduled Meetings with Congress
Registration and Hotel
There is no cost to participate in the March on Washington event, but registration is required. While there is not an HCAF-designated hotel, staff will stay at the Comfort Inn Downtown DC/Convention Center located at 1201 13th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20005. NAHC has compiled a list of hotels near March on Washington events, which can be accessed by clicking here.
Weather is expected to be cold, so dress accordingly. Business attire is recommended for all events. Please wear comfortable shoes since you'll be walking all over the Capitol!
